Tyresö Centrum is being transformed into a high-performance energy machine.
At this 60-year-old, 45,000 sqm shopping centre near Stockholm, district heating and chillers are being replaced with an integrated heat pump system by Energy Machines. The system uses geothermal energy and waste heat from on-site grocery stores, with surplus energy stored underground and shared across an integrated cooling network.
By reusing available energy and adding geothermal storage, purchased energy consumption will be reduced by 65% (from 83 to 28 kWh/m²/year).
Tyresö Centrum marks Energy Machines' third project with Skandia Fastigheter. We’re grateful for Skandia’s trust and proud to play an important role in their ambitious, long-term sustainability strategy.
